Air source heat pump water heaters, as the name implies, are to transfer the energy from the air to the water through the refrigerant. Traditional electric water heaters and gas water heaters obtain the heat energy by consuming electricity or gas, while air source heat pumps (ASHPs) achieve the purpose of heating the water by absorbing the heat in the air. Under the condition of consuming the same amount of electric energy, they can absorb the heat energy that is equivalent to three times of the electricity to heat the water.
There is no doubt that the biggest advantage of air source heat pump water heaters is energy saving. The low-temperature heat energy in the air is converted into high-temperature heat energy through the compressor. Based on the same hot water production, the usage cost is only 1/4 of that of electric water heaters, 1/3 of that of gas water heaters. ASHPs use medium to exchange heat and avoid the direct contact between water and electric heating elements, which eliminates the hidden danger of electricity leakage in electric water heaters. Secondly, because the raw material is air, gas explosion or gas poisoning in gas water heaters can also be avoided, which makes people feel safer and more comfortable.
